The SENTENSA software is available under a dual licensing model. This means that users can use SENTENSA products under "LGPL" and "GPL" licenses, or under a commercial license.

Since Sentensa is written in Java (versions >= 1.4.2), the only requirements are that the platform of interest supports indicated Java version and that there is enough hard-ware (memory, disk, CPU) to support the data to be indexed and queried. The specific size of the hard-ware need depends on the size of the input data and on how documents are to be stored. Typically the indexing process requires about 512 MB RAM whereas the query side requires 256 MB RAM. Of course, if many users are connected to the system it may be advisable to adjust the available memory accordingly.

Sentensa compresses information during the indexing process so there is no need for huge amount of temporary disk space during the indexing operations.

The Sentensa software is platform independent. The downloadable files below for Windows and Linux differ by packaging formats (.zip or .tar.gz). The content is almost identical, differing by start scripts (.bat file or .sh file) and somewhat in the instructions in the ReadMe file. For other platforms, download for the closest one below and make appropriate adaptions.
